We want to share that while our Fall design labs are ending this week, we will be offering more design labs in the Winter to support all of you in your preparation for Spring. Please be on the lookout for these! We will also be offering our popular Equity 101 course beginning January 11th to support you in your equity work.
We will not be offering sessions November 23rd through November 27th. We hope you all are able to have some down time that week. We will return to sessions the week of December 1st.

Learning Assistance Hour: Writing Center Roundtable
Friday, 11/20, 3 PM – 4 PM
Thursday, 12/3, 5 PM – 6 PM
Join 3CSN for a 1-hour roundtable discussion among writing center professionals to explore the successes, hopes, and dreams with regard to providing online writing support to our students. After a brief introduction and an opportunity to share successful practices, participants will select an inquiry question to discuss more deeply with other writing center colleagues.

Join 3CSN’s Equity 101 online course beginning January 11th, 2020…
Equity 101
January 11 – March 7, 2020
As you plan your professional learning for the new year, we invite you to consider Equity 101, an 8-week online course for educators from all areas of campus. Participants will build knowledge about some of the many teaching and learning perspectives for equity and reflect on how to advocate for social justice from where we are, as instructors, managers, or classified staff.
Three (3) post-baccalaureate units will be available for an additional cost ($300, or $100 per unit) from California State University-Dominguez Hills, College of Extended Education. Purchasing CEUs is completely optional, and not required for registration in the course. Course facilitators will provide more information about signing up for the units after the course has begun.

Interested in making your Canvas Course more vibrant and engaging for students as well as easy to navigate? Join 3CSN Communications Coordinator Kelan Koning and students for this session on the basics of Adobe Spark to design your own buttons and graphics. An optional 30 minutes will be provided for additional practice and discussion.

Tools for Asynchronous & Synchronous Discussion: Google Docs

Collaborative documents such as Google Docs can be powerful tools for synchronous and asynchronous engagement. Join Communications Coordinator Kelan Koning and students for this interactive session on creating a collaborative Google doc and setting it up for sharing with your students.
