OpenStax Allies offer free access to learning technology as courses move online this spring

As several schools decide to move their traditional classes temporarily online, OpenStax Allies are supporting instructors with free access to their online homework and courseware.

David Harris and Courtney Raymond Mar 12, 2020

In an effort to support instructors and students who have to accommodate growing social distancing requirements as a result of COVID-19, we are pleased to share that a substantial number of OpenStax Allies have agreed to offer free use of their platforms through the end of the spring semester for new customers transitioning to online teaching as a result of the virus. These measures are being offered to new customers only, in an effort to support an unforeseen transition to remote teaching.

We know many classes are moving suddenly and unexpectedly online, placing strain on educators to not only support students, but to maintain continuity in their courses. We’ve been working over the past week with our OpenStax Allies to determine how we can provide further support to the community at this time. Our Allies offer learning technology like courseware and online homework alongside OpenStax content, and their partnership helps sustain our organization and keep us moving forward in our mission of improving access to education.

These educational technology tools can help you bring many analog components of your course online quickly, which is especially critical for those on campuses with new social distancing requirements. We are truly grateful to the following OpenStax Allies who have come together and are providing free access to their platforms for community members who need to move their courses online for the first time or who have not used distancing technology before. They are listed below with the OpenStax subjects they support.
